The Amaz!ng Meetings



Ever since I attended the first Amaz!ng Meeting, I have looked forward to the next one all year. These conferences are the greatest place to meet other skeptics from around the world, share ideas, hear from and chat with prominent skeptical thinkers, and just have enormous amounts of fun. If you go (and trust me, GO!), be sure to check in at the online JREF Forums to get a complete list of the unofficial activities. These turn a terrific conference into a community festival, and a group of brilliant, like-minded individuals into fast friends.

The Amaz!ng Meeting 2005 - Las Vegas

Where we finish off the bits of Las Vegas still standing from TAM2! Richard Dawkins headlines the show. Over 500 skeptics attend (we have evidence!) Penn & Teller, Julia Sweeney, The Bad Astronomer, Michael Shermer, Jamy Ian Swiss, Banachek, and Ray Hall return. So do the Chocolate Challenge and the Skepchick's Pajama Party. Plus - late night jacuzzi discussions of quantum physics, pillowfights under strict Newtonian mechanics, and porn duels on The Strip!

The Amaz!ng Meeting 2004 - Las Vegas

Where we do it all again, this time in Las Vegas, with Penn & Teller, Julia Sweeney, The Bad Astronomer, Michael Shermer, Jamy Ian Swiss, Eugenie Scott, Dean Cameron, Banachek, Lance Burton, Ray Hall, and so many more. The Chocolate Challenge and the Skepchick's Pajama Party are instituted, and crashed.

Where I travel to Florida, go to the Kennedy Space Center, meet a lot of friends for the first time, hear from some terrific speakers, and vow to return every year.
